Independence

There was a time,

We battled for peace and integrity.

An era, 

People died for equality and freedom.

These were the years 

Unity existed amongst us.

A time when fighting was worth it.

Currently,

Battles are fought through hashtags.

Individualism has colonised our minds,

Each man for himself is the new mandra.

That's why we're suffering in the hands of our own.

Ubuntu has lost it value,

We're voting for our tummies not our nation.

Untill we master this game of thrones,

Independence will forever be foreign to us.
